Lisbon is one of our favourite destinations in South Europe, especially in Summer. Every time we visit Lisbon, we keep discovering new lovely spots and restaurants. Our latest trip from August took us to three sweeping viewpoints, some very relaxed squares and a Remodelado tram in our first 24 hours. We do not have much content about Romania on the site. Truth is that, until about half a decade ago, it was not too much of a tourist destination, certainly not for the Western Europeans. It was more of a hidden secret in Eastern Europe and few travellers would put it on their list. Things have started changing slightly as people look for more affordable European destinations, particularly in Summer, when the European South is full to the brim. This year in particular, after having weathered the pandemic with a reasonably good track record, Romania seems to have found some appeal to the international tourist. Which is great, as there are lots of great sports to uncover and food to try out.

But after taking a tour with the help of a kind and knowledgeable guide and with two kinds in tow, it seems that I did not know all that much really.
During our 3h tour we found out many interesting things about Romania’s capital. We selected the best bits to share them with you and hopefully provide some inspiration should you decide to visit Romania one day. It is a bit rough around the edges but with a bit of time to explore, it will always hold a special place your heart.

When you hear Dubrovnik, the first thing that comes to mind are the red rooftops of the old city center and, if you are a Game of Thrones fan, the backdrop of King’s Landing. And while this is one of the iconic sights of the city and a must see, there a re a few side trips that you should definitely consider to make the best of your time in the Pearl of the Adriatic. Gran Canaria is also called the ‘mini-continent’ for the huge variety of landscapes that you can encounter in a very small surface. From Sand dunes to high peaks and great beaches, all is easily accessible by rental car. If you add in the beautiful fishing villages of Puerto Mogan and Puerto de las Nieves, the picture will be complete.
As the wether is a constant 20 C all year round, we decided to visit in January and had a great week in Gran Canaria with the kids. We also a few great local restaurants that we feature in our video. I hope you will consider visiting and take some inspiration from our trip.

Greece is a must see when travelling in Europe. The weather is sunny, water is warm and food is beyond delicious. And there is so much to do for the whole family, from water sports to art and culture to nature explorations, there are hidden gems on every island waiting to be explored.

Easter in the Ardennes was a great idea. The untypical sunny weather and the great activities we booked in advance turned this destination into a success with the kids. In Belgium, at the moment, all cultural and outdoor activities need to be booked in advance.

In the last century, this site served for coal exploitation and industrial mining. It is an inspiring success story how C mine was transformed from the hotspot of a dying industry into a poster child for the artistic aspirations of Genk and the Limbourg Region in Belgium. This attraction was a highlight of our Limbourg visit with the kids.
The C mine expedition moves from the underground interractive installations to a 60 m tower and then back to the tunnels for a great sesory experience. The children enjoyed exploring evey corner of the place and looking for clues to find the Cyrill the cricket. Unfotunatelly the game is only avavialbe in French and Flemish.
