In this video we you to a Botanic Garden in search for clues and chocolate eggs. At the end we share our most important take away from the trip.
We do not have many Easter traditions in our expat family. I grew up with some traditions of the Orthodox religion being practiced in my parents house and have most of my early childhood memories of Easter linked to midnight church going and lots of filling food. On my husbands side, growing up in West Germany, there were sweets and bunnies bringing presents.
In Belgium Easter is not a big thing but a favourite custom that many families would enjoy is the Easter Egg hunting. Many museums, parks and castles would organise their own version of this, with some being more targeted to older children. Last year we went for a simpler version organised by the city hall in a park.
This year we upgraded to a more complex circuit with 10 questions, each leading to a clue. A treasure hunt and Easter Egg hunt in one! The weather was dreadful but we tried to make the best of it as you can see from the video.
